ARTEXIM is a public institution of the Ministry of Culture, operating in accordance with Government Decision no. 342/1990, financed from extra budgetary incomes.

ARTEXIM supports the implementation of the cultural program set by the Ministry of Culture, continues the institution’s cultural policy, according to the European standards imposed by the affiliation of the institution to international specialty federations and associations.

ARTEXIM supported the participation of numerous young artists at international competitions, who later became baseline names in Romania’s cultural life, being messengers of the Romanian arts on the biggest stages of the world: Ruxandra Donose, Roxana Briban, Iulia Isaev, Marius Brenciu, Ana-Camelia Stefanescu, Celia Costea, Alexandru Tomescu, Irina Ionescu, Alexandru Badea, Paul Basacopol, Matei Varga, Stefan Ignat and others.

In 1994, as a recognition of its entire activity, ARTEXIM was the only artists management agency in Romania granted as a full member of “Association Europenne des Agents Artistique”; also, in 1996 our agency was co-opted in “International Artists Management Association”. These affiliations led to the ascending prestige of our institution and to the acknowledgement of our professionalism.

Because of our event management seriousness and professionalism, ARTEXIM was accepted as a representative of the prestigious “George Enescu” International Festival, in the European Festivals Association (1997).  ARTEXIM succeeded to manage the most appreciated artistic ensembles and world renowned performers, as the organizer, throughout the ten editions  (1991 – 2013).

Since 2002, the “George Enescu” International Competition is a member of World Federation of International Music Competition, being  the only classical music competition in Romania organized and juried according to the standards and the statute of the Federation. Also, the Competition is a part of Alink – Argerich Foundation – Piano Competition Worldwide.

ARTEXIM organizes in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute, the auditions for the annual selection of the European Union Youth Orchestra.
